Live in Light of Easter: Pt 2
Throughout all of Scripture, we see the Resurrection. The Old Testament as a whole points to it, the Gospels document it, and the rest of the New Testament talks about how to live in light of it.
But as we see again, if not for the Resurrection actually happening, the rest of Scripture would fall flat.
Scripture tells us God is all powerful and mighty, He loves us all, and He will bring about deliverance for His people, those who follow Him.
But this would not be true without the Resurrection.
What the Resurrection does is verify the truth of Scripture. The Resurrection confirms the validity and truth of God’s Word. As we live in light of Easter, we can trust and rely upon the Word of God. If we know that Scripture is true, why would it not be on our minds and hearts at all times? After all, Paul tells Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
It is to be used in our life to guide us, comfort us, give us strength, help us worship, and so much more.
And perhaps most exciting for those of us who are living in light of Easter, knowing the truth of Scripture gives us the ultimate hope for the future. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:24: “Then the end will come, when he [Jesus] hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.”
Because of the Resurrection, God wins. We win. Scripture is proved true and we get to rest in that fact!
