By Jess, Indiana watercolor artist and maker of Art and Home co. · Updated November 2026
The 2026 ornaments are here. Each one is a small, carefully crafted ceramic piece, painted by hand in my Indiana studio. They're mostly florals, each one different, and each comes with a velvet ribbon so it's ready to hang. Give one to a friend, a teacher, a sister, or your mother-in-law, and she'll put it on her tree every December.
They sell out every year. If one is on your list, here's how I'd choose.
What are the Art and Home co. ornaments?
Small ceramic ornaments painted in acrylic with an original watercolor-style art. I paint them all, so each one is a little different. They're about 3x3, light enough for any branch, and they come with a velvet ribbon.
You can see the whole collection here.
Why give an ornament instead of something else?
Because it keeps being a gift. A candle burns down. A sweater gets worn out. An ornament comes out of the box every December, and every time she hangs it she remembers who gave it to her.
It's also small. You can give one to a lot of people on your list without it feeling like filler.
Which ornament should I give?
Pick the one that sounds like her.
If you're not sure, go with the prettiest one. A quiet floral looks right on almost any tree.
Who should I give one to?
Almost anyone on your list:
A teacher. Small, thoughtful, and easy to send in a backpack.
A neighbor or church friend. Something to hand over at the door.
Your sister or best friend. Add a note about why you chose it.
A new mom or a newlywed. Their first Christmas tree, their first ornament from you.
The host of the Christmas party. It fits in your hand next to the dish you're carrying.
How do I give an ornament so it feels like a real gift?
Write the card first. One honest sentence is enough: "This made me think of your vibe." Then tuck the ornament into tissue and a small box, and hand it to her in person if you can.
Can I ship an ornament as a gift?
Yes. I pack each one carefully, and orders ship from my Indiana studio within a few business days. If you're sending one to someone far away, order early in the season so you're not racing a date.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the ornaments made of?
Ceramic, painted by hand. They're about 3x3 inches and come with a velvet ribbon for hanging.
Are the ornaments really handmade?
Yes. I paint every design myself in Indiana. Because they're hand-painted, no two are exactly alike.
How do I take care of a ceramic ornament?
Wrap it in tissue and store it in a small box in a cool, dry spot. Keep heavy things off the top of the box.
Do the ornaments sell out?
They have every year. If you see one you love, I'd order it. Availability shows on each product page.
Where can I buy hand-painted Christmas ornaments?
The ornament collection is here. I paint every design in Indiana, and orders ship from my studio within a few business days.
